West Chicago, IL- In their second outing of the 2026 season, the Alverno Golf team took part in the Benedictine University Fall Invite. The highlight of the day for the Inferno was without question
May Wendelberger (Wauwatosa,WI) shooting a 97. This was one shot off of the best round in Alverno Golf History, and believed to be the lowest score ever carded by a first year Inferno Golfer.
The 97 was good enough to tie Wendelberger for 74th place on the event. In total, five golfers for Alverno competed in the event, which was won by Aurora University.
Yazmin Fernandez-Chavez (Milwaukee,WI),
Emma Aguilera (Waukesha,WI),
Lilly Fisher (Chicago Heights, IL) and
Ash Eldridge (Kenosha,WI) rounded out the lineup for Alverno at St. Andrew's Golf Club in West Chicago, Illinois.
Next up for the Inferno Golfers will be a dual meet against fellow Milwaukee Division 3 squad, Wisconsin Lutheran College. The meet will be played on Saturday, September 19th.
