Kansasville, WI- Friday and Saturday saw the Alverno College golf team compete at the Midwest Region Classic. The two day event was hosted by Benedictine University at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
Most encouraging for the growing young Inferno team was a 23 stroke improvement from Friday to Saturday. Of the Inferno golfers who competed both days,
May Wendelberger (Wauwatosa, WI) was Alverno's top finisher, followed by
Yazmin Fernandez-Chavez (Milwaukee, WI) and
Lilly Fisher (Chicago Heights, IL).
On another very positive note, the team's score of 1,013 ties the Alverno record for lowest two-day team score (first achieved in 2017). Wendelberger's 221 score in 36 holes establishes a new program record for the lowest two day total score.s a new program record for the lowest two day total score.
Next on the schedule for the Alverno Golf team is the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship. The multi-day event will begin on Saturday, October 3rd.
