Sports Medicine

The Sports Medicine Department at Alverno College is committed to providing high quality health care to all students involved with Intercollegiate athletics. Athletic Trainers are nationally and state certified to practice Athletic Training and are proficient in the recognition, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries. The Sports Medicine Department also works with athletes in the education and prevention of common athletic injuries.

The Athletic Training Staff works closely with a staff of orthopedic physicians from Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital and the Orthopedic Institute of Wisconsin, which are housed within Ascension Healthcare Organization. Jamie O. Edwards, MD is Alverno's team physician. If an Alverno student-athlete needs to see the doctor, arrangements will be made for an office visit. For more information about Midwest Orthopedic Specialty Hospital and the Orthopedic Institute of Wisconsin, please visit Ascension Healthcare Organization.
