Cross Country Continues 2025 Campaign at the Ken Weidt Classic

MEQUON, Wis. – The Alverno College cross country team raced in the Ken Weidt Classic on Saturday, competing at the Concordia-Wisconsin Cross Country Course. The Inferno finished in 10th place on the day, as they competed in their third race of the year.

Once again, sophomore Bailey Gardner (Winnipeg, Manitoba/University of Winnipeg Collegiate) finished with the top time for Alverno, racing on a six-kilometer course for the first time this year. Gardner finished with a time of 33:41.4, placing 76th overall on the day, and has now finished first for the Inferno in all three of their meets this year. Graduate student Rosie Robles (Milwaukee, Wis./Carmen Southeast) finished second for Alverno, improving by almost 10 minutes from her time on the same course a year ago, placing 84th with a time of 38:09.9.

Senior Morgan Whitten (Columbus, Miss./Columbus Christian) placed 90th for the Inferno, posting a time of 41:33.7. She was followed by senior Lylah Wise (Kingman, Ariz./Arizona State Preparatory), who was 94th with a time of 44:17.4. Rounding out the five for Alverno on Saturday was senior Katherine Peabody (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) who finished 96th with a time of 48:54.7.

Concordia-Wisconsin took home the team win, as they had the top two finishers, with Emma Ahrens winning the race and Ainara Sainz De Rozas finishing second.

The Inferno will get three weeks off before their next race, which will be the Warrior Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 4 in West Allis, Wisconsin at noon.
