Cross Country Concludes 2025 Campaign at the NACC Championships

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Alverno College cross country team wrapped up its 2025 season on Saturday, competing in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Championships at the Phoenix Alumni Cross Country Course at Shorewood Park. The Inferno placed 11th amongst their NACC counterparts.

Sophomore Bailey Gardner (Winnipeg, Manitoba/University of Winnipeg Collegiate) was the first Inferno to cross the finish line, placing 77th overall with a time of 33:20.8, a new career best in the 6k. Senior Morgan Whitten (Columbus, Miss./Columbus Christian) placed 82nd overall for Alverno, finishing closely behind Gardner, as she posted a season-best time of 36:05.4.

Senior Katherine Peabody (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) finished next for the Inferno, as she smashed her previous career best mark with a time of 38:58.0 to place 84th. Lylah Wise (Kingman, Ariz./Arizona State University Preparatory) was a few seconds behind Peabody, placing 85th with her new career best time of 39:07.5. Graduate student Rosie Robles (Milwaukee, Wis./Carmen Southeast) rounded out the Alverno five on Saturday, finishing 86th with a mark of 39:13.8.

Aurora won the NACC Championship, as all five of their runners finished in the top 10, with their highest finisher placing third. Emma Ahrens of Concordia Wisconsin won the race and individual title, with teammate Melanie Arvis a minute behind in second place.

The championship race concludes the season for the Inferno, as well as concluding the careers of three seniors, Robles, Whitten, and Wise.
