MILWAUKEE – On Monday afternoon, the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced its postseason awards and all-conference honors following the 2024 softball regular season. Included in the announcement was Alverno sophomore Giselle Moreno, who was an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection.
 
In her second season with the team, Moreno was one of just two players to start in all games of the team's contest during the 2024 campaign. She led the team with a .616  slugging percentage and finished with a .394 batting average, while tallying a team-best 39 hits, with 10 doubles and four home runs, while driving in 24 runs and scoring 18 of her own
 
In conference games, her numbers featured 24 hits in 68 at bats for a .353 batting average in 20 conference matchups, with six doubles, two home runs and 12 RBIs, as she slugged .529 and had a .370 on-base percentage.
 
Moreno a native of Chicago, Illinois was also named the Student-Athlete of the Year in addition to being named Softball's Most Valuable Player at the Athletics Inferno Awards on May 2, 2024, to close out the great season that she had.
 
Concordia University Wisconsin junior shortstop Jess Pozezinski was named NACC Position Player of the Year and Dominican University senior Kayla Faber-Cournane was named NACC Pitcher of the Year, while Lakeland University outfielder Maddie Raske as named NACC Freshman of the Year. The coaching staff at Dominican, led by Cristina Lukas, was recognized its peers as the NACC Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Aurora, Dominican, and Lakeland each had four individuals named all-NACC, with the Spartans and conference champion Stars landing three apiece on the first team. Lakeland's four selections were split between the 15-member first team and the 10-member second team. Benedictine and Concordia Wisconsin both had three all-league picks, with all three of the Falcons' selections being named to the first team. Benedictine had two first-team picks and a second-teamer. Edgewood and Wisconsin Lutheran both scored a first-teamer as their lone all-NACC pick, while Marian and MSOE had two second-team picks each and Concordia Chicago had one.
