Alverno College volleyball student-athlete Jessica Wewers has been named Alverno Athlete of the Week for events of October 10-16. 

Wewers recorded a season best 20 kills off 39 total attacks against Maranatha Baptist on Tuesday, Oct. 10. She then added 12 kills verse Marian University then four kills against Lakeland University over the weekend. 

The native from Beach Park, Ill. currently holds career records for most block assists (175), total blocks (209), and blocks per set (0.71).

Alverno wraps up their homestand of the 2017 season first hosting Lake Forest Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m before finishing the week with NACC play. The Inferno welcomes Concordia Chicago to Reiman Gymnasium Friday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. then Dominican University for Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 12 p.m.
