Milwaukee, WI- Tuesday proved to be a most exciting night for the Alverno College Volleyball team.  After splitting the first two sets against Maranatha Baptist, the Inferno took set 3 and seemed to be in control.  The Sabercats seemed on their way to winning set four and forcing a decisive set.  The Inferno showed a courageous amount of toughness and stormed back from a 22-17 deficit to take the match in four sets.  It was Alverno's second victory of the season and their second in their last three matches.

Winning the 4th set by a 27-25 final score, the Inferno sent an enthusiastic crowd home happy.  Mary Needham (San Tan Valley, AZ) had a stellar night on the attack, totaling 23 kills in the four games, many of which came on perfectly placed sets by Beyonca Hereford (Beloit, WI), who finished the match with an impressive 29 assists.  Brooklynne Hereford (Beloit, WI) guided the Alverno defense, as she piled up 20 digs to lead the Inferno.

The Inferno will look to stay hot and continue their momentum this weekend when they play at Lake Forest College.  They will play three matches between Friday and Saturday, beginning Friday at 7 pm with a neutral site match against the Red Devils of Eureka College.
