Softball Announces 2026 Spring Schedule

2026 Alverno Softball Schedule

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Led by first-year head coach Shawn Grimm, the Alverno College softball team has announced its 2026 slate, featuring nine scheduled home doubleheaders. The Inferno open their season with a road trip to THE Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida, before making its home debut at Alverno Softball Field.

Alverno opens its season in Florida at THE Spring Games, beginning on Saturday, March 14, with its first game versus Nazareth University. The Inferno continues with additional games throughout the weekend against Worcester Polytechnic Institute on March 14 and Ursinus College and Bates College on March 15. On March 16, the team takes on both Endicott and UMass Dartmouth before their scheduled day off on March 17. Alverno concludes its Florida play with matchups against Rutgers-Camden, Southern Maine, Keuka College, and Maine-Farmington through March 18–19.

The Inferno return to Wisconsin to begin their home schedule on Saturday, March 21, hosting Marian University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) doubleheader at noon. Alverno then welcomes North Park for doubleheader action the following day on Sunday, March 22.

Conference play continues with a doubleheader at Edgewood on Saturday, March 28, with the Inferno returning to Milwaukee the next day to host Rockford in another twin bill.

Non-conference matchups include twin games against Maranatha Baptist on March 31 during the 25 Years of Athletics Celebration and a Tuesday doubleheader against North Central (Minn.) on April 21, each hosted at Alverno Softball field.

Alverno's 2026 home schedule includes key Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) doubleheaders versus St. Norbert on April 11 and Concordia Chicago on April 19. The Inferno will also visit MSOE on April 4, Benedictine on April 12, Lakeland University on April 18, and Dominican on April 26 as part of their conference slate.

Saturday, April 25, will see the Inferno host their final 25 Years of Athletics Celebration before the team's scheduled doubleheader versus Concordia Wisconsin at noon. The college will plan several key events around this game, with more information on the specifics of the celebration coming soon.

Alverno will wrap up regular-season action with a doubleheader at Wisconsin Lutheran College on May 2 and then home contests against Aurora on Sunday, May 3 at noon.

The NACC Softball Tournament begins on Thursday, May 7, and runs through Sunday, May 10, as the top eight teams in the conference standings qualify for the conference playoffs. The tournament will be hosted by Aurora University at Bedrosian Stadium in Montgomery, Illinois.
