MILWAUKEE – Earlier this week, the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced its postseason awards and All-Conference Teams. Alverno junior
Giselle Moreno was named to the All-League First Team following her standout 2025 campaign.
Â
With her selection, Moreno becomes the first All-Conference First Team honoree since 2014, when Emily Ortner and Ashleigh Sagat were both named to the All-NACC First Team.
Â
Moreno finished the season hitting .429 – the highest batting average in a season for an Inferno since Ortner's .463 mark in 2014. Her average ranks seventh on the single-season batting average list.
Â
She hit five home runs and recorded 11 doubles, placing her fourth and ninth, respectively, in Alverno's single season records. Her 72 total bases were also fourth-most in a single year in program history, and her .735 slugging percentage ranks fifth all-time.
Â
Within the NACC, Moreno's .429 batting average was third-best in the conference. She also ranked third in slugging percentage and OPS, and fourth in on-base percentage. Her five home runs tied for seventh in the league, while her nine stolen bases tied for 14th.
Â
Through three seasons at Alverno, Moreno holds a career .393 batting average, which ranks third in program history. She is also in the top 10 in several categories: 114 hits (ninth), 30 doubles (fifth), 15 home runs (fourth), .672 slugging percentage (second), and .427 on-base percentage (sixth).
