Golf Competes at the Battle at Stonehenge

WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Alverno golf team competed at the Battle at Stonehenge on Monday, September 29th, in Winona Lake, Indiana.

Junior Michelle Hess (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) led the way for the Inferno, shooting a 130 (+59), just over her season average of 128.67 coming into the meet. Senior Jenna Kornwolf (Milwaukee, Wis./Greenfield) had the next best score with a 168 (+97), while freshman Yazmin Fernandez-Chavez (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI Catholic) posted a new collegiate best with a 169 (+98). Senior Katie Kornwolf (Milwaukee, Wis./Greenfield) rounded out the scoring with a 188 (+117) for the Inferno.

Taylor University won the meet with a score of 603 (+35), as they had the top three individual scorers led by Eleanor Schuitema, who was even after two days on the course, shooting a 142.

The Alverno Inferno golf team has the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Golf Championships next on its schedule, as they will compete in the three-day tournament on Oct. 4-6.
