HUNTLEY, Ill. – The Alverno golf team competed in its first match of the season Wednesday, heading to Pinecrest Country Club for the Judson University Fall Invitational. The team finished in 14
th place, as they competed for the first time in the 2025 campaign.
Senior
Haley Marini (Friendship, Wis./Adams-Friendship) led the way for the Inferno on Wednesday, placing 71
st with a score of 123 (+51). Close behind Marini was junior
Michelle Hess (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley), competing in her first match as a member of the golf team. She shot 129 (+57) to place 73
rd.
Seniors
Katie Kornwolf (Milwaukee, Wis./Greenfield) and
Jenna Kornwolf (Milwaukee, Wis./Greenfield) shot 167 (+95) and 173 (+101), respectively, rounding out the competitors for the Inferno.
Judson won the invite as a team, combining for a score of +47. They also had the top golfer at the meet, as Isabell Burnett shot a 77 (+5).
The Alverno Inferno golf team is next in action on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Benedictine Fall Invite, hosted by the St. Andrew's Golf & Country Club in West Chicago, Illinois.
