WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – The Alverno Golf team took part in the opening round of the 2024 NACC Women's Golf Championship on Saturday. The golf team will participate in the NACC Women's Golf Championship from Oct. 5-7 at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club.
After the initial 18 holes of play, Alverno currently sits in 8th place with a team score of 312. League-favorite Aurora currently paces the field with a 23.
Alverno was led by senior
Avery Maxwell, who carded a 34 as she finished the par-72 course which is good enough for 38th place on the individual leaderboard.
Nevaeh Cruz and
Jenna Kornwolf finished 45th and 46th in a place finish with scores of 72 and 99 for the round. Classmate
Katie Kornwolf rounds out Alverno's foursome with a 107.
Play for the Inferno continues on Sunday at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago, Illinois.
