MILWAUKEE, Wis. --- On Wednesday, the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced its list of student-athletes that earned Conference Scholar-Athlete recognition for the 2022-23 academic year. This season the Inferno had 27 student-athletes as a part of the list, recognized for their academic efforts in 2022-23.

To be recognized as a NACC Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must be a full-time student competing in the conference while maintaining a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher for the current academic year. Each academic year stands by itself for determination of this award.
 
Though Alverno does not administer traditional grades, instead, teaching and learning at Alverno are enhanced by assessment of a student's individual program and by giving meaningful feedback. The Department of Athletics has worked with Alverno's Registrar Office and Faculty to review the records of student-athletes' performances to determine of the year's academic work would be comparable to a student from a school with a GPA of 3.25 or greater, which allows student-athletes to be recognized by the NACC as other member institutions' student-athletes are.
