LAKE FOREST, Ill.– The Alverno Volleyball team traveled for a non-conference matchup against Lake Forest on Tuesday evening, the Inferno fought hard but wasn't enough as the Foresters won the match in three sets.
The Inferno were led by junior
Rolin West, who tallied 11 kills on the night to go along with 14 digs for another double-double performance of the season.
Izzy Gianniou led the team in hitting percentage at a .222 clip, while tallying two kills to go along with 17 assists and five digs. Senior
Selena Upshur also collected six kills and registered eight digs.
Alverno dropped the opening set with a 25-18 score; the Inferno and Foresters went back and forth early in the opening set before Lake Forest rattled off unanswered points to pull away.
In the second set the Foresters controlled the tempo cruising to a 25-10 victory.
The third set opened host Lake Forest controlling the tempo coming out with the early lead. The Foresters would then cruise to take a 25-17 set victory over the Inferno.
Alverno (1-12) will return home as they welcome the Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin on Thursday, October 5 at 7 p.m. inside the Reiman Gymnasium.
