MILWAUKEE – The Alverno soccer team celebrated 'senior day' on Saturday afternoon in the team's final home match of the season. The Inferno fell to the Marian Sabres by an 8-0 score.

Prior to the contest, Alverno celebrated the careers of seniors

As a team Alverno recorded three shots, with two of those shots coming on target. Freshman
Haley Youngblood had the team's two shots on goal during her 90 minutes of play, while junior
Georgia Wise was also credited with a shot.

Wise also got the start in goal and yielding the opening three goals by Marian, while making four saves in the opening half of the contest. Freshman
Emily Anguiano surrendered the final five Marian goals and made two saves after playing 27 minutes on the field in the opening half.

In addition to Youngblood and Wise, who played all 90 minutes; Cervantes, Flores, and Shipley in addition to freshmen
Monce Cervantes,
Ashley Gutierrez-Diaz, and
Ashley Ibarra played the full contest. Freshman
Lilly Coronado also played 87 minutes on the field.

Alverno (0-13-1) will wrap up the season on Wednesday evening, when the team travels to St. Norbert for a 7 p.m. start at Donald J. Schneider Stadium.
