MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College was held scoreless in a 3-0 nonconference loss to visiting North Park University Monday afternoon at Alverno Field.

The Vikings (5-9-1) scored the initial goal in the 13th minute on a put back of a deflected save. The second goal came in the 40th off a free kick and the final tally was in the 52nd via a breakaway.

The Inferno (5-11) fired off seven shots in the contest including four on frame, but were unable to find the back of the net. Samantha Devcich and Jackie Vanderkolk led the hosts with three shots apiece, two on goal each.

At halftime, five Alverno seniors were honored: Devcich, Vanderkolk, Annie Davison, Jenna Reed and Sydney Wisner.

Alverno wraps up its 2016 season with a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest at home Wednesday afternoon versus Aurora University. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
