LISLE, Illinois -- Host Benedictine University shut out Alverno College, 4-0, Wednesday evening in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference action.

The visiting Inferno (5-9, 1-8 NACC) held the Eagles (6-6-3, 4-2-2) scoreless for a majority of the first half before a pair of goals in the 35th and 39th minutes ended the 0-0 tie. The third and fourth scores came in the 70th and 87th.

Alverno goalkeeper Allison Weick recorded nine saves in the loss and Nala Mudd had the visitors' lone shot on goal.

The Inferno closes out its current four-game road swing Saturday at Illinois Institute of Technology in a nonconference tilt. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
