Inferno Unable To Contain Raiders' Offense

Box Score

MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College was unable to contain Milwaukee School of Engineering's Sara Travia as she scored five goals in a 12-0 defeat of the host Inferno.

Alverno (1-8, 0-4 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) held the Raiders (6-5, 2-2 NACC) scoreless for the first 20 minutes of action before Travia netted the go-ahead score. Four more goals would give MSOE a comfortable halftime lead.

KC Warren had the Inferno's lone shot on goal but was unable to roll it past the Raiders' goalkeeper.

Katelyn Bartlett had 14 saves for her sixth consecutive game with double-digit halts at goal, while Allison Weick recorded three stops in 13 minutes of action for Alverno.

MSOE retained the Red Rivalry Cup with today's win, the trophy awarded to the annual winner in the Alverno versus MSOE matchup.

The Inferno hits the road for its next two games beginning Wednesday at Dominican University.
