MILWUAKEE -- Visiting Concordia University Chicago handed Alverno College a 4-1 loss as the Inferno began its homecoming week Tuesday afternoon at Alverno Field.

The Cougars' Allison Kruk scored back-to-back goals in the 15th and 21st minutes, and the Cougars added another score just before the break for the 3-0 lead at intermission.

Late in the contest, Brittany Carpenter netted her first score of the season on a deep ball to cut the lead to 3-1, but the Cougars answered just a minute later for the final tally of the game.

Alverno dropped to 0-8-1, 0-3-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, while the Concordia Chicago improved to 6-4-0, 1-3-0 NACC.

The Inferno returns to the field for the Hall of Fame game on Saturday, a 12 p.m. kickoff versus Mount Mary University at Alverno Field.
