MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee School of Engineering defeated visiting Alverno College 8-0 Wednesday night at downtown Viets Field.

The host Raiders (7-4-1, 3-1-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) got off to a quick start and scored just 39 seconds into play. Caitlin Liddiard netted one of her three goals of the night off a through ball just inside the box for the first score.

Alverno (1-9-1, 0-4-0 NACC) managed three shots on the night, including two on goal. Hayley Serketich fired off a shot in the 25th minute, and Brittany Carpenter opened the second half with another attempt, but the Raiders' goalkeepers stopped both challenges.

The Inferno's other shot, Jackie Vanderkolk's in the fifth minute of the game, was blocked by a Raider defender.

Next action for Alverno is Saturday as it hosts Wisconsin Lutheran College at 2 p.m. at Alverno Field.
