PLYMOUTH, Wis. -- Jackie Vanderkolk scored both Inferno goals as Alverno College netted a 2-1 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory over host Lakeland College Wednesday evening.

Vanderkolk scored her second goal of the contest in the 79th minute after a free kick by Andrea Diaz to break at 1-1 tie between two teams searching for their first conference win this season.

Alverno (2-10-1, 1-5-0 NACC) was on the offensive attack early, and Vanderkolk and Briguite Martinez worked a give-and-go play with Vanderkolk converting for a 1-0 lead 10 minutes, 40 seconds into the match.

Lakeland (2-12-1, 0-6-0) bounced back just three minutes later as Kelly Jens entered the ball in front of the goal to Krystina Cook who found the back of the net and tie the game.

The game would remain at a stalemate before Vanderkolk put the Inferno ahead.

Alverno outshot Lakeland 12-5 for the game and posted a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal.

Kaitlyn Gallinatti recorded a save in all 90 minutes at goal for the Inferno.

Alverno returns home for a pair of game this weekend versus Edgewood College on Saturday, and Robert Morris University-Lake County on Sunday.
