Box Score MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee School of Engineering broke a scoreless tie in the 63rd minute and the lone goal stood for a 1-0 victory over host Alverno College in the teams' third annual Red Rivalry Game.
The Inferno (5-5-0, 1-4-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) nearly took the lead late in the first half as Elizabeth Terrones beat the Raiders' goalkeeper, but her shot from the right side of the box was halted by a sliding defender just prior to crossing the goal line.
MSOE (6-6-0, 4-1-0 NACC) held a 22-2 advantage on shots, but Samantha Robinson saved nine of the Raiders' 10 shots on goal to keep the Inferno in the contest until the final horn sounded.
The Raiders retain the Red Rivalry Cup for the for the third-straight year with the 1-0 defeat of the Inferno.
Alverno returns to the field with another home game tomorrow at 4 p.m. versus Beloit College in a nonconference tilt.
