LISLE, Ill. -- Alverno College couldn't find the back of the net on a rainy and wet Wednesday night at Benedictine University, and lost to the host Eagles, 1-0, in the Inferno's final Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game of the 2013 season.

The loss puts the Inferno (9-10-0, 2-9-0 NACC) tied for 10th place in the league standings, while the Eagles (6-11-2, 4-5-2) finished in seventh.

Benedictine's Rachael Hodison netted her third goal of the season in the 23rd minute and the Inferno couldn't answer with an equalizer.

Senior-midfielder Nava Moniriarani fired off five of the Inferno's eight shots, including three on frame, but was blanked by the Eagles' goalkeeper Abby Gary who had four saves on the night.

Senior-goalkeeper Samantha Robinson tallied six saves in the defeat.

The final game of the season for the Inferno is Friday versus Finlandia University, a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Alverno Field. Alverno's four seniors, Moniriarani, Robinson, Ashley Hewing and Ashleigh Sagat, will be honored in a ceremony at halftime on Senior Day. The Inferno can secure the first .500 season in program history with a victory.
