Box Score MILWAUKEE -- For the first time this season the Alverno College soccer team's record dropped below .500. The Inferno lost to visiting Dominican University 4-0 Saturday afternoon in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Alverno Field.
The Stars (3-11-1, 3-6-1 NACC) took an early 2-0 lead on a pair of goals by Leah Tednes in the game's third and 19 minutes, and the Inferno (8-9-0, 2-8-0), who were outshot 14-7, only got off a pair of shots on goal in the contest.
Brittany Carpenter and Hayley Serketich got the best looks for the Inferno, who still has three chances left in the season to break the school-wins record, which it tied with its eighth win last Sunday.
Dominican added the third score in the 58th minute on a penalty kick and scored the final goal on a breakaway in the 88th.
Alverno hits the road for two-straight games beginning Monday with a nonconference contest at Mount Mary University.
