Inferno Completes Homestand Versus Cougars, Lions

Box Score

MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College soccer team completes a three-game homestand with a pair of games this week versus Concordia University Chicago and Finlandia University.

The Inferno (2-6, 0-5 Northern Athletics Conference) is looking to snap a five-game skid and win its first conference game as it opens the week against the Cougars (2-4, 0-4 NAC). The Cougars are also on a losing streak and seeking their first NAC victory, having lost three straight.

The Cougars own the all-time series 6-1-1 against the Inferno, which includes a 1-0 victory down in River Forest, Ill., last season.

Today's match against Concordia Chicago is set for a 3 p.m. kickoff at Alverno Field.

Alverno finishes its homestand with a nonconference match against Finlandia University on Sunday.

The Lions (1-6 overall) have lost five-straight games, and have scored just two goals to date -- both of which came in a 2-0 defeat against Robert Morris University-Lake County the second game of the season.

Alverno leads the all-time series 2-0 against the Lions, which includes a 5-0 decision in the teams' most recent meeting in the 2007 season.

Sunday's kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Alverno Field.
