Box Score MILWAUKEE -- Alverno College was unable to stop Concordia University Wisconsin's potent offense, as the visiting Falcons left Alverno Field with a 5-0 Northern Athletics Conference victory.
The Falcons (8-2, 5-0 NAC) came into today's game with a league-leading 5.0 scoring average and matched it.
It looked as though the Falcons would surpass their average with four first-half goals, but the Inferno (2-6, 0-5 NAC) fended off 15-of-16 shots in the second half and allowed just one goal in the period.
Rookie Rebecca Fuentes got her first-career start in goal for the Inferno and tallied 12 saves on 39 shots in her debut.
Concordia's Brittany Klumpp scored the game's first goal in the 12th minute, which proved to be the game winner. She added a goal in the second half to tie teammate Carley Pfannerstill with a game-high two goals apiece.
Alverno looks to snap its current five-game skid as they host Concordia University Chicago this Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Alverno Field. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
