Bucs' early scores top Inferno

MILWAUKEE -- The visiting Beloit Buccaneers scored two goals in the first 5 minutes of the game, and the host Inferno were unable to respond in the 4-0 nonconference loss this evening at Alverno Field.

The Bucs (1-2) added another goal on a penalty kick, as an Inferno player was called for a hand foul in the box, before the end of the half to lead 3-0 at intermission. The Inferno (1-3) only got one shot attempt close to goal in the opening half.

In the second half, Alverno had three shots on goal, but was unable to convert on any of the attempts for a score.

Beloit had the advantage on shots, 13-10, shots on goal, 8-4, and corner kicks, 3-1, in the game.

Rookie Bryanna Gayle (Milwaukee/Riverside) led the Inferno with five shots (two on goal), Nava Moniriarani (Oak Creek, Wis.) had three shots (one on goal) and Rachel Krueger (Port Washington, Wis.) added two (one on goal).

Molly Dickson had a hat trick for Beloit, which included the penalty-kick score.

Alverno continues nonconference play on Saturday, hosting North Central University (Minn.) at noon.
