Box Score MILWAUKEE -- Lake Forest College dominated the ball in the first half and defeated host Alverno College, 5-1, this evening at Alverno Field in Milwaukee in a nonconference game.
The visiting Foresters (3-0) outshot the Inferno 17-1 in the first half and took a 5-0 lead into the locker room. Lisa Sorensen (Muskegon, Mich.) led Lake Forest with two goals and an assist and also had a team-high five shots in just 19 minutes of action.
The Inferno (2-1) bounced back a bit in the second period, as they outshot the visitors 6-2, and sophomore forward Kelsey Kochanowski (Oak Creek, Wis.) scored the team's lone goal on a penalty kick just before the 78-minute mark. It was Kochanowski's seventh goal of the season, having scored in each of the Inferno's three games thus far in 2010.
Samantha Robinson (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Tremper) recorded the decision at goal for the Inferno, recording six saves and all five goals against Alverno in 45 minutes at the net.
Alverno opens up the conference season this Saturday as it hosts Concordia University Wisconsin at 12 p.m. in a Northern Athletics Conference match.
