Kochanowski's hat-trick leads Alverno to victory

Box Score

MILWAUKEE -- Kelsey Kochanowski recorded her fourth career hat-trick as Alverno College defeated host Mount Mary College 4-0 today in a nonconference game at Mount Mary Field in Milwaukee.

Kochanowski, a sophomore forward from Oak Creek, Wis., scored all three goals consecutively within almost 10 minutes of each other in the first half, making the feat an uncommon natural hat-trick.

Her first score came unassisted before her teammates Kaitlin Schaeren (New Berlin, Wis./West) and Nava Moniriarani (Oak Creek, Wis.) set her up for each of her next two goals.

In the second period Kochanowski set up Samantha Robinson (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Tremper) for her first career score. Robinson has recorded two-thirds of the Inferno's minutes as goalkeeper this season--including all 45 minutes in the first half--before being moved up to the front line in the second half.

The Inferno improve to 5-6 on the season while Mount Mary drops to 1-7. It was Alverno's 10th-straight win over the Blue Angels, and ninth-straight shutout.

Alverno is next in action on Saturday as it hosts Marian University in a Northern Athletics Conference game. The game, scheduled for 2 p.m. at Alverno Field, is also Alverno's Homecoming and Hall of Fame Game.
