BELOIT, Wis. -- The Alverno College women's soccer team fell to the host Buccaneers of Beloit College 5-0 tonight at Strong Field in a nonconference game in Beloit.

The Inferno (5-8) trailed 2-0 at halftime, but couldn't get the offense on track managing only two shots in the period.

In the second half some game-ending injuries to the Inferno defense required head coach Brittany Nikolic to shift around the lineup, forcing some players to play out of position. The host Buccaneers (3-9-1) took advantage adding three goals in the period--including one on a penalty kick--for the 5-0 final.

Samantha Robinson (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Tremper) recorded 16 saves at goal for the Inferno.

Alverno returns to action on Wednesday in a Northern Athletics Conference game at Rockford College at 4 p.m.
