Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Alverno College women's soccer team fell to host Marian University, 6-0, in a Northern Athletics Conference game this afternoon in Fond du Lac.
With the loss the Inferno drop to 6-8 overall and 2-5 in the NAC, snapping their streak of two consecutive victories. Marian improves to 8-3 overall and 7-2 in conference.
Alverno was unable to stop Marian's offensive attack early as the host Sabres scored five of their six goals in the first half, including four in an eight minute stretch. Marian outshot the Inferno 14-2 in the half and 32-4 in the game.
Ellie LaFond (Waukesha, Wis./West) recorded three of the Inferno's shots, two on goal, and Alex Brenner (West Allis, Wis./Nathan Hale) had the remaining shot for the visitors.
Freshman goalkeeper Kayla Kennedy (Trempealeau, Wis./G-E-T) had 14 saves at the net and recorded the decision dropping her record to 3-4 on the season.
Alverno looks to get back on the winning track as they host Rockford College, currently winless (0-7, 0-5 NAC) on the season, on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Game time is set for 4 p.m. on the Alverno campus.
