MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College women's soccer team was held scoreless in a 9-0 defeat by Maranatha Baptist Bible College today in Milwaukee.

The Inferno dropped to 0-4 in the Northern Athletics Conference (2-7 overall), while the Crusaders improved to an even 2-2 in the NAC (5-3 overall).

Maranatha outshot Alverno, 22-4, and controlled the field most of the game.

Ellie LaFond (Waukesha, Wis.) led the Inferno with three shots, including two on goal, but was unable to find the back of the net this afternoon.

Alverno will look to end their current five-game skid next Wednesday, Oct. 1 as they travel cross-town to play Wisconsin Lutheran College (1-9, 1-3 NAC). Game time is set for 7 p.m. at WLC.
