WLC Too Much for Alverno

MILWAUKEE -- The Alverno College women's soccer team was unable to overcome Wisconsin Lutheran College's offensive attack succumbing to a 9-1 defeat tonight in Milwaukee.

The Inferno (2-8, 0-5 NAC) were outshot 26-3 in the first half and gave up four goals in the first period.

Host Wisconsin Lutheran (2-10, 2-4) scored the first six goals of the game before Alverno would find the back of the net.

Alverno got on the scoreboard with less than ten minutes into the second period as sophomore forward Ellie LaFond (Waukesha, Wis.) scored the lone Inferno goal, adding to her team leading total of 11 goals on the season.

Alverno senior goalkeeper Jess Kramer (Kenosha, Wis.) recorded 17 saves in the game.

The Inferno will attempt to end their current six-game skid as they host Marian University this Saturday, Oct. 4. Alverno's homecoming game will begin at 11 a.m. on the Alverno campus in Milwaukee.
