Milwaukee,WI- The Alverno soccer team played an aggressive style and took the attack to Maranatha Baptist in their home opener on Tuesday. Unfortunately, the Sabercats of MBU were able to find the back of the net more frequently than the homestanding Inferno and won the match by a 6-0 final score.
Alverno tallied 24 shots on Tuesday afternoon, but it was Maranatha that capitalized on their scoring chances and created distance in the match.

Rica Joy Oliveros (Ewa Beach, HA) and
Julia Hamilton (Racine, WI) each provided six shots, Hamilton with five shots on goal.
Hannah Wester (Clintonville, WI) went the distance in net for Alverno, collecting 8 saves.
The Inferno will return to the road for their next match, as they head to St. Louis to take on the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy. It will be their second match up against a team from the NAIA in their last three matches. The match will take place at 2 pm on Saturday, September 19th.
