THE LEAD – Alverno concluded the third day of the 2025 Gene Cusic Classic with a pair of setbacks at the hands of Crown College and St. Joseph's University Brooklyn. Crown cruised past the Inferno, 10-18, before the Bears pulled away 11-0 in the second game of the morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 1 vs. Crown)
  • Crown opened the contest with plating two runs to take an early 2-0
  • The Inferno answered in the bottom of the first inning with adding three runs to take a 3-2 lead
  • Both teams plated two runs in the second inning with Alverno taking a 5-4 lead over Crown.
  • Crown exploded for six runs in the fourth inning to build a commanding 10-5 lead
  • Crown added an additional eight runs in the remaining innings to take the 18-10 victory
  • Alverno plated five additional runs to close out its scoring
  • Alverno was led by Giselle Moreno who went 2-for-4 with a run and three RBI's
  • Alverno finished the contest with 13 hits
HOW IT HAPPENED (GM 2 vs. St. Joseph's University Brooklyn)
  • St. Joseph's opened the contest with plating nine runs to take an early 9-0
  • St. Joseph's added an additional run in the second inning to take a 10-0 lead
  • St. Joseph's added its final run of the contest in the fourth inning to take the 11-0 victory
  • Alverno was led by Alyssa Hubli who went 1-for-2 at the plate
  • Alverno finished the contest with one hit
