GLENDALE, Wis. – The Alverno softball team faced Lakeland University in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a league doubleheader at Nicolet Softball Fields at Maslowski Park. The Muskies picked up the sweep by the scores of 17-0 and 9-5.
Alverno had a pair of hits in the opener on base knocks

Lexi Hess and Dominique Tétrault.
Maggie Wilmot got the start in the opener and tossed two innings only allowing 14 hits, 13 runs in the 20 batters faced.
Jocilyn Janeway retired two batters to close out the contest and did so in the three innings pitched.
Cruz got the start in the second game pitching the whole game and put together her best outing of the year while striking out three of the Muskies. Alverno got on the board first adding a run in the first inning. Lakeland answered with tying the game with adding a run in the top of the second. Lakeland grew its lead in the third with adding three run to take a 5-1 lead. Alverno bats came alive in the fifth and sixth innings plating four runs. The Muskies answered in the remaining innings to plate four runs to take the 9-5 victory.
Alverno (2-10, 0-6 NACC) will travel on Monday, April 8
th to face Aurora in NACC doubleheader action at 5 & 7 p.m.
