MEQUON, Wis. – The Alverno softball team took its final second trip outside of Milwaukee County on Saturday to take on the Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin at Catalyst Park. The Falcons won the opener by an 16-2 score, and the second game by a 15-0 margin.
Emily Anguiano and
Samantha Schrader both drove in both runs in the opening contest, as Anguiano connected on a double to left field in the top of the fifth inning to score
Jaylynne Ramsey and Schrader reached on a fielder's choice which scored
Michelle Hess. Two Inferno had hits in the opener
Laura Heim and
Emily Anguiano.
Offensively in the second game, Hess the Inferno's only hit of the contest.
In the circle the first game for Alverno was
Maggie Wilmot who started pitching one inning only allowing seven hits, eight runs and three walks in the 13 batters faced.
Samantha Schrader finished the contest pitching three innings only allowing seven hits, seven runs and two walks in the 19 batters faced.
In the nightcap
Nevaeh Cruz tossed three innings only allowing 15 hits, 15 runs, two walks and two strikeouts in the 30 batters faced.
Alverno (5-25, 2-18 NACC) will be back on the road traveling to Lisle, Illinois for a NACC Conference doubleheader against Benedictine on Sunday, April 28. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
