FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Alverno softball team took a trip on Saturday to take on the Marian Sabres on Smith Field. The Sabres won the opener by an 9-4 score, and the second game by a 9-3 margin.

Jaylynne Ramsey was walked advanced the runners to
Emily Anguiano in the fourth followed by
Laura Heim singled to center field for two-runs to score
Samantha Schrader and
Jaycee Reyes. Four Inferno had hits in the opener for Alverno was
Laura Heim,
Lexi Hess,
Emily Anguiano and
Samantha Schrader.
Emily Anguiano was 3-for-3 in the opening game with one run.
Lexi Hess and Samantha Schrader both were 2-for-4.
Offensively in the second game, Heim and
Andrea Ramirez added a double each.

Maggie Wilmot and
Nevaeh Cruz tossed a 131-pitch complete game as they yielded just nine runs and struck out one batter over six innings of work.
Jocilyn Janeway and
Nevaeh Cruz in six innings had 114 pitches and struck out three batters while allowing nine runs through the outing.
Alverno (2-8, 0-4 NACC) will return home for its 2024 home season opener when they host the Eagles of Edgewood College in doubleheader action on Monday, April 1. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m. at the Alverno Softball Field.
