MADISON, Wis. – The Alverno College women's basketball team was on the losing end of a 92-53 final score to conference opponent Edgewood College this evening inside Todd Wehr Edgedome.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the first quarter, the Eagles seized a four-point lead, 6-2, at the 6:09 mark. The Inferno fought back and trailed by one point, 10-9, before a Edgewood layup made the score, 14-11, at the end of the first period.
• The Eagles scored the first four points of the second quarter to gain an 18-11 lead. Alverno answered by cutting the lead 20-15 at the 8:06 mark. Edgewood scored additional points over the remaining minutes to take a 30-24 advantage at the halftime break.
• Edgewood outscored the Inferno, 29-17, in the third quarter to see its lead swell to 18 points (59-41) to begin the fourth quarter. The Eagles kept the offensive pressure in the fourth quarter, gaining their largest lead of the game at 42 points.

FOR THE INFERNO

• Gemini Ventura scored a team-high 18 points and seven rebounds.
• Shiauna Nixon-Boyd joined her in double figures with 17 points on 2-of-3 shooting from behind the arc.
• Kayla Jamerson added 10 points.
• Riley Spencer and AnaCristina Rodriguez-Ross added a combined eight points for Alverno.
• Alverno secured 12 points in the paint.

• Alverno will return to the court this Saturday, December 7^th continuing Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with matchup against Lakeland University. Tio-off from Woltzen Gymnasium is scheduled for 2 p.m.
