MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Alverno College women's basketball team home to Reiman Gymnasium in a non-conference matchup against the Blue Jays of Elmhurst University.
The Inferno competed with the Blue Jays in the first half of the game, only being out-shot, 21-17 in the first quarter and 29-16 in the second. Ultimately, the Blue Jays gained their momentum, securing the win against the Inferno, 98-42.
Alverno College (2-2) used the fouls called against the Blue Jays in their favor, shooting a 65.4 percent (17-26) at the free throw line. The first quarter saw the Inferno shot 50 percent (7-14) in shot attempts along with 6 points off of turnovers.
Gemini Ventura led Alverno with 21 points, three rebounds, and one assist. Shiauna Nixon-Boyd recorded 11 points and 3 rebounds. Riley Spencer, Kyla Jamerson, and AnaCristina Rodriguez-Ross scored a combined total of 10 points, along with 10 rebounds. Morgan Golabowski secured 16 rebounds to assist the Inferno as well.
The Inferno will return to Rieman Gymnasium to compete against Buena Vista University on Saturday, November 30th with tip-off slated for 2:00 p.m.!
