MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Alverno College women's basketball dropped its Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference matchup falling to the Edgewood College Eagles, 78-66, on Saturday, Jan. 27, inside Reiman Gymnasium.
Newcomer Shiauna Nixon-Boyd lead the team netting a game-high 27 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the floor and an 6-of-6 performance at the free-throw line while
Dionna Woodson also reached double figures with 11 points.
For the game, Alverno shot 35.9 percent from the floor, going 23-of-64, but was just 38.1 percent from three-point range, making just eight out of 21 attempts from long range. Edgewood went 16-of-27 at the free-throw line (59.3 percent), and outrebounded Alverno, 44-36. The Inferno, however, outscored the Eagles in points off turnovers, 14-11.
The Eagles was led by Jayden Nortier who finished with 25 points and three rebounds.
The Inferno (3-15, 1-8 NACC) is scheduled to host Lakeland University on Monday, Jan. 89, at 7 p.m. inside Reiman Gymnasium.
