Women's Soccer Falls to Edgewood College, 7-2

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Alverno College women's soccer team fell to Edgewood College on Saturday afternoon, 7-2.

Alverno took just one shot in the first half to Eagles 23, while taking one shot in the second half while Edgewood took 16. Alianna Herrera scored both goals for the Inferno to lead the team.

Edgewood got things going early with a goal less than four minutes in, and then added to their lead just over four minutes later as they held a 2-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game. The Eagles then added to their lead with five minutes until halftime as they took a 4-0 lead before the Inferno scored to cut the lead to 4-1 heading into the locker room.

After a goal for Edgewood made it 5-1 early in the second half, Alverno's Alianna Herrera netted the team's second goal of the game and cut the lead to 5-2.

Before the end of the game, the Eagles added two more goals as they went on to defeat Alverno, 7-2. Emily Anguiano had a game high with 17 saves on the match, as she played the entirety of the match.
 
Eight Inferno were credited with playing 90 minutes for the Inferno.
 
Alverno (0-6-0, 0-4-0) will look to regroup as they welcome Wisconsin Lutheran to campus on Wednesday, September 27 at 4 p.m.
