MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Alverno College softball team will return to action on Saturday, April 29th as they travel to Rockford, Illinois for doubleheader action against Rockford University at the Mercyhealth Sportscare Two Complex. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m.

 Alverno College softball team fell in doubleheader action to the Red Hawks of Ripon College on Thursday, April 27 at Tracy Field.
 

GAME 1 | Alverno 2, Ripon 4
Maggie Wilmot (0-4) got the ball to start for Alverno College (4-24) and took the loss. Wilmot pitched six innings only allowing nine hits, four runs, six walks and four strikeouts in the 32 batters faced. 
 
Offensively, the Inferno was paced by Izzy Torres went 3-for-4 on the day at the plate with an RBI. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ripon started the game with adding four runs in the second and third inning. Alverno answered in the top of the fifth inning to plate two runs but wasn't enough as Ripon took the 4-2 victory.

GAME NOTES
» Alverno pitchers faced 32 Ripon hitters in the game, allowing nine hits, four runs, six walks and four strikeouts.
» Izzy Torres led the Inferno at the plate, going 3-for-4.
» Ripon was led offensively by Breider, who went 2-for-2 with one RBI.
» Bronk led the Red Hawks pitching staff, throwing six scoreless innings.

GAME 2 | Alverno 2, Ripon 5
The Inferno yielded a 5-2 decision to Ripon in game two.

Nevah Cruz (1-4) started and took the loss in the circle for Alverno College (4-25).

In the batter's box, the Inferno was paced by Giselle Moreno, who was perfect from the plate going 3-for-3 on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Alverno got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. Ripon then added four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 4-1 lead. They then plated its final run in the third inning to take the 5-1 lead. Alverno plated its final run in the sixth inning to yield a 5-2 decision in favor of Ripon.
