RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Alverno College softball team lost to Concordia Chicago, 8-0, in five innings at Concordia Softball Field this afternoon.
The Infernos (4-19, 1-10 NACC) had two base hits and left three runners on base in the game. Concordia Chicago (14-14-1, 6-4-1 NACC) opened the scoring in the first inning with three runs to take an early lead.
The Cougars added one more run in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. Concordia Chicago plated four additional runs in the remaining inning to cruise to an 8-0 victory.
Izzy Torres pitched all five innings only allowing 10 hits, eight runs, five walks and two strikeouts in the 31 batters faced.
Alverno returns to action on Saturday, April 22nd as they host MSOE for Alumnae Day in doubleheader action at the Alverno Softball Field. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m.
