Box Score CHICAGO, ILL. - After a short Thanksgiving break, the Inferno basketball team traveled to Chicago, Illinois to take on the Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Institute of Technology. Although Alverno put up their second highest total of the season, the Inferno came up short 84-52.

With Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play officially underway, the Inferno continue to improve with each game throughout the season. As a team, the Inferno went 16-27 from the free throw line, a season high for them.

After the first half, the Inferno were shooting 100% from the line (7-7) and after halftime, they shot just below 50% going 9-20 from the line. The Inferno also spent most of their time inside the paint where they scored 28 of their 52 total points.

In her Alverno basketball season debut, sophomore transfer
Dionna Woodson went 4-5 from the line while totaling 8 points and 4 rebounds.

Leading at the front of the Inferno pack was
Laila Alramahi with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Alramahi shot 1-1 at the free throw line and spent 29 minutes on the court. Along with Alramahi,
Kyla Jamerson also had 29 minutes of court time where she tacked on 6 points for the Inferno and 7 rebounds. Sophomore
Riley Spencer was a silent threat during her 25 minutes of play where she went 2-2 from the free throw line, adding to her 9 point total. Spencer also pitched in with 2 defensive rebounds.

The Inferno were led on defense by
Madalyn Kavalary and
Haley Youngblood, as Kavalary accumulated 9 rebounds, while Youngblood followed close behind with 7.

NACC play has just begun for the Inferno, leading them back across the state border to River Forest, Illinois where they take on the Cougars of Concordia University-Chicago. The Inferno and Cougars face off at 7:00 pm CST on Wednesday, December 6th inside the Geiseman Gymnasium.
