MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Alverno drops their match with Mount Mary after playing four sets with the scores of 23-25, 25-19, 15-25, and 19-25.
The Inferno and Blue Angels were tightly matched, going back and forth exchanging points throughout the first set. The largest lead Mount Mary had in set one was 6 points, until the Inferno stormed back with six straight points, tying the set at 20. This surge was led by
Rolin West who had seven kills in set one, and 18 kills through all four sets. Despite the Inferno's effort, the Blue Angels were able to close out set one by a score of 25-23.
Alverno fights back in set two, starting the set fast and quickly finding themselves with a 12-4 lead.
Selena Upshur was another key player who had 13 kills and played in all four sets. She was the player who delivered the winning kill for the Inferno in set two with a score of 25-19.
Alverno played close games in their final two sets but came up short in both. Five Inferno players record at least one kill through the two sets, including
Breann Flannery and
Izzy Gianniou with their first of the match.
The Inferno finished their season with a 2-23 record.
Rolin West ends the season as the team leader in kills and digs, while
Izzy Gianniou led the team significantly in assists, with 500 on the season.
Dominique Tetrault led the team in blocks and
Sharisty Kooch led in service aces.

Rolin West secured the all-time single-season record in kills with 343. West also led the team this season in kills with 343 and digs with 270.
