Wise Makes 14 Stops in Goalkeeper Debut vs. Concordia Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE – The Alverno Soccer team returned home after a pair of road matches, as the Inferno played host to the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons on Saturday afternoon on the Alverno Soccer Field, falling by a 6-0 score.

Alverno played a stronger defensive game with a new formation on the back line, allowing junior Georgia Wise, making her goalkeeper debut, to make 14 saves in the effort.

The Inferno were also credited with one shot as freshman Monce Cervantes put one on frame in her 28 minutes of play.

Five Inferno also played the full 90 minutes, as seniors Alo Cervantes, Ashley Flores, and Katie Shipley played the full slate along with sophomore Yedelmys Ayala and freshman Haley Youngblood. Freshman Analy Mercado made her home debut after making her collegiate debut on Wednesday, and played 12 minutes.

Alverno will be back on the road for its next two games, beginning with Concordia Chicago on Wednesday, before a trip to Lakeland on Saturday.
