4/22/2021 5:23:00 PM

Box Score MILWAUKEE – The Alverno softball team was finally able to wrap up its four-game series with the MSOE Raiders on Thursday afternoon, finishing up the slate with a 10-0 loss to the Raiders at the MSOE Athletic Field in downtown Milwaukee.

The Inferno visited the Raiders in a make-up of yesterday's weather postponement, which came on the heels of a postponement on Monday, April 5, in a post-Easter doubleheader.

Alverno was unable to record a hit on the afternoon, facing three MSOE pitchers.

Senior Lauren Greif got the start and allowed six earned runs over the first 1 1/3 innings as she faced 14 batters on the afternoon. Classmate Kaitlynn Schmick came on in relief as she faced 13 batters and struck out four of them, while allowing two earned runs over the final 2 2/3 innings.

Alverno (1-19, 0-12 NACC) will next play on Saturday afternoon, when the Inferno travels to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin for a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference doubleheader against the Marian Sabres with first pitch slated for 12 p.m. at Smith Field. There is no limit to in-person spectators, however, Marian is not permitting fans to sit near the field, and spectators must sit beyond the outfield fence only.
