MILWAUKEE – The Alverno soccer team hosted the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons on Saturday afternoon from an overcast Alverno Soccer Field. The Falcons won the match by a 12-0 score.

The Inferno registered seven shots on the match with three of those coming on frame, led by junior
Shaye Wolfe, who tallied four shots and one shot on goal. Junior
Rikki Nelson took two shots, with one on target, while freshman
Sofia McLaughlin took one shot that was on frame.

In goal the Inferno had freshman
Becky Brittell between the posts for the full 90 minutes of play, as she made her official first collegiate start and made eight saves in the effort.

In addition to Brittell playing the full 90 minutes, Alverno also had four others play the full slate as juniors
Angela Chobanian and
Ziri Hernandez-Bustos, as well as freshmen
Nia Brittain and
Alondra Guadarrama played the full match. Wolfe played 87 minutes, and McLaughlin played 86 minutes.

Concordia's attack came early and often, opening the game with a goal in the 14th minute before adding five more in the opening half. The Falcons added another six goals to their ledger in the second half to cap the scoring at a dozen. Corner kicks were also in favor of Concordia at a 16-0 clip.

Alverno (0-5-0, 0-5-0 NACC North) wraps up the toughest two-game stretch of its truncated season on Wednesday, when the team travels to nearby foe Milwaukee School of Engineering for a 7 p.m. start under the lights on Viets Field in downtown Milwaukee.
